KBS Educational Foundation

School Managing Committee
Oversees the running of the school: its plans, its staff, its budget and the safety and welfare of pupils.
The Principal
The head of the school, who leads its teaching and its daily life.
The CBSE framework for school management
CBSE’s Affiliation Bye-Laws set out how a school following its system should be managed. These are the norms the school is guided by.
- A not-for-profit body. A school is run by a registered society, a registered trust or a not-for-profit company, and not by an individual.
- A managing committee of up to 21 members. It includes the head of the school, two parents of pupils, two teachers of the school and two educators from other institutions, and at least half of its members should be women.
- Regular meetings. The committee meets at least twice in an academic session, and its members serve a term of three years.
- Clear duties. The committee supervises the school, looks after the welfare of teachers and staff, reviews the budget and sees to the safety of children.
- Academic freedom. The Principal’s academic freedom is respected: decisions about teaching are made by educators.
